Good friend and artist Jason Lee gives me a call one day. He basically says, “I have a new studio. We’re gonna call it The Great Art Factory. The walls are bare. You down?” And just like that I committed myself to doing something I’ve never done before. I come by the studio and had no idea what I had just got myself into haha, but after trying to chicken out it looked like I had no other option but to go for it.
This 20-foot mural was completed in a matter of four days and is one of the biggest achievements of my artistic career. Jason has become a great mentor of mine and the Soterik crew became a new family to me in the process. I actually was a little apprehensive about attempting to accomplish something like this in such a short period of time, but it actually turned out to be what pushed me to give it a shot to challenge myself. I’ve never had to sketch anything so big in my life! From priming the wall to climbing up a rickety ladder trying to keep my balance while keeping my lines straight to inhaling spray paint fumes to the max, I was definitely pushed to the limit with this project thanks to art director Jason Paul haha. I am thankful for the experience and the special people who helped and visited me that week for moral support. Couldn’t have done it without you. ♥ Here is how it turned out:

Talented photographer Brent Pantell also came by to snap a few shots to capture the process. Pretty cool! My first shoot in front of my own work! Check it out:
